Have you said these words? I have – and I know you have. Inevitably, it means you made a mistake and would like a redo. We say it, but we know there are no “re-dos.” I most often say this to myself when I think back to the $$$$$$ I foolishly paid in credit card interest on credit card debt I carried in my 30’s and 40’s. I do simple math, I multiply the amount of the typical monthly payments I made by 240 (20 years) and then say, “If only I had not done that.”
The money would be in savings (actually 3 times that amount with interest). Grrrrr – I can’t get it back.
But it’s not all bad. I did hear the message. I saw the light and stopped the trap of endlessly paying interest. By doing so, I accomplished our mantra “Preserving Future Income for You and Your Family” by saving that money for retirement, rather than wasting my retirement by paying interest on credit card debt. The concept is simple, it’s smart, and it is absolutely essential. It’s not totally pain-free, and it’s not as easy as pie – but it is far easier than you would ever imagine and once you do so, the reward is unbelievably great.
Think long-term: 120 months and 240 months. Now, multiply the monthly payments you are making on credit cards by 120 and 240. This is YOUR money and if you’re smart, you will get rid of the credit card debt and bank that money instead. If you’ve read this far, you should be asking, “How the heck do I do it?”
The answer is – attend our next FREE SEMINAR, appropriately titled “Debt Free Is Me”. It’s Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at 6 PM at our Bingham Farms office.
